| There are two methods you can use to make a keyboard glow in the dark. On the one hand you can place LEDs, i.e. 'Light Emitting Diodes', which have to be attached exactly below each individual key. So-called electroluminescence lighting is used to achieve full-surface illumination of the input device. Using this technology, it is possible to implement multicolored backlighting of control elements and signal displays in front panels, membrane keyboards, silicone keyboards and LC displays. | |
| Individual color mixtures and gradients | |
| The user can freely determine which colors he would like placed under which key when illuminating his input devices. By printing the light fields with different EL colors, filter colors and special filters, a lively lighting design can be achieved through color gradients in the surfaces. | |
| Ultra flat illuminant | |
| Another advantage of these flexible light foils is the low overall height of the complete foil structure. With an adhesive film, the foil can be attached to a flat or slightly curved surface and integrated as lighting, e.g. in a membrane keyboard. | |
| Shape for many applications | |
| The EL foils can be designed in any shape by punching, laser or water jet cutting. Breakthroughs such as windows and bores can be displayed without any problems. In this way, translucent silicone keyboard mats can be illuminated over their entire surface and, for example, be optimally equipped for night design via a dimming device. The EL foil on the keys has openings for making contacts. These light sources are particularly used in the following applications: - Backlight - Advertisements in electronic products - Interior design and stage design - Interior and emergency lighting in the aircraft industry - Effect lighting and information panels in automobiles - Etc. |
