Description

AGP (graphics card slot)

AGP 8 x offers the fastest data transfer, but is only used in older computers. Newer computers are usually equipped with a PCI-Express slot.
PCIe (PCI-Express)
Abbreviation for Pperipheral Component Interconnect Express; often abbreviated to PCIe: an extension of the PCI standard, mainly used as a successor to the AGP slot in the area of PC graphics cards.
Older plug-in cards cannot be used on the faster PCI Express slots. In notebooks, the PCI Express Mini slot is the successor to the Mini PCI cards.
