| Over time, a lot of crumbs and dirt accumulate on the keyboard surface and between the keys. The reason for this is, for example, the food at work and, quite simply, dust; as a result, a lot of bacteria settle in and the keyboard no longer looks really appealing. | |
| We will show you how to properly clean and disinfect your keyboard. | |
| In advance: preparation for cleaning | |
| Save your entries and close all programs. If the keyboard and mouse are connected via USB, disconnect the cables or shut down the computer. If you leave your keyboard or mouse connected, it is a good idea to turn off your computer completely. After cleaning, reconnect the devices and restart the computer if necessary. | |
| At the beginning: shake out the crumbs | |
| Turn the keyboard over and first try to shake as many loose crumbs and crumbs out of the keyboard as possible. Please never use the vacuum cleaner directly on the keyboard, this can damage the sensitive technology. | |
| Then: Thoroughly wipe the keys and spaces between keys | |
| Now spray some liquid on a cloth, sponge, soft brush or directly on the surface of the keyboard or mouse. Wipe the surface of the device with a soft microfiber cloth or tea towel. If a few drops should get between the keys, simply wipe away or let them dry. | |
| Cleaning tips - which cleaning agents you should absolutely avoid! | |
| Please do not use petroleum-based cleaning liquids such as petrol, turpentine or oil, no acetone, no cleaning liquids with more than 10% chloride, no temperature sterilization, no use of cleaning pads or other coarse sponges or cloths. | |
| Recommended cleaning agents | |
| Use either isopropyl alcohol or another disinfectant to remove bacteria and other debris from the keyboard. | |
| Household chloride (sodium hypochlorite); 10% chloride, 90% water; cleaning agents based on isopropanol 3.5% isopropanol, 0.5% propylene glycol, 96% inactive ingredients; pure alcohol (100%); antibacterial soap and warm water. | |

| Immersing the keyboard on waterproof models | |
| Immerse the product in a container filled with liquid (a mixture of water and recommended cleaning agents). Please ensure that the USB or PS / 2 connector cannot get damp or wet, as the connector is not protected against the ingress of liquids. | |
| Wipe the surface of the product with a cloth, sponge or soft brush. | |
| Take the device out of the water bath immediately after cleaning. You can wipe off the excess liquid or let the keyboard or mouse air dry. | |
