With the GCK-990, GeBE developed a clever controller system especially for the control of membrane and long-travel keyboards. The keyboard controller is based on the 68HC908JB8 from Motorola and can be connected to up to 144 keys. The module offers a USB/PS/ combo port (autodetect) and ghost-key detection. As an option, a matrix can be connected through a 50-pin strip.
Control on Various Levels
An intelligent keyboard control is half the battle. With a heart only the size of a matchbox, the keyboard offers the user a variety of options for the sophisticated input of data, numbers, and information. Up to 144 keys can be operated with this small device. Of those, 143 keys can be double-allocated through the FN level.
Connecting External Devices
Starting immediately, all GFT membrane keyboards and KWD long-travel keyboards developed by GeBE are controlled by the GCK-990. The keyboards as well as external Touchpads, Trackballs, or joysticks can be directly connected through the USB port.
Individual Layout Available
Simply with its favorable price-performance ratio, the GCK-990 can score big in the marketplace. Even more: The system offers front protection meeting DIN IP 65, controls compact devices and can be easily modified for the customer. US and German are the standard layouts, other country versions are available on request.
