Stainless steel offensive: Tangible keyboards for controlling industrial systems
Self-service terminals are an integral part of our everyday lives. They can usually be operated while standing and therefore offer a display at eye level. This is either a touch display that is operated with a fingertip, or there is a keyboard and/or a trackball or touchpad to control the movements of the mouse cursor.
Unwavering | |
The TVG series mouse devices are particularly suitable for use in semi-public or public areas, from Internet terminals and information points to gas stations and museums. Nevertheless, vandal-proof keyboards have also been popular as interactive control elements in the industry for many years. Solid properties speak for this: both the front panel and the button are made of corrosion- and temperature-resistant stainless steel
The two or three short-stroke buttons or the capacitive touchpad are installed almost seamlessly in the front panel. The entire device can also be tightly integrated as an integral part of the application using stud bolts on the back. This means the keyboard is well protected against the ingress of dust or water. The technology, which is encapsulated in up to IP68, as well as robust storage of the balls through the installation of ball-bearing steel rollers on the back, also ensure a long service life.
Helper for fine tuning | |
The trackballs are made of plastic or stainless steel; movements are recorded, similar to the computer mouse, via optical or optomechanical sensors. The balls score points with their high chemical and mechanical resistance. They roll easily under your fingers and the mouse pointer quickly steers to the desired position. The ball sizes vary between 25 mm / 1 inch, 38mm / 1.5 inch or 50 mm / 2 inch. Common customer-specific applications can be found in process and packaging technology for controlling systems in the food and dairy industries. Customers in the distillation or bottling plant sector can also easily control their systems with the help of the mouse.
Matter of the heart | |
The integrated controller allows you to choose between PS/2 and USB port. No additional drivers are required for installation. Trackballs and touchpads can also be integrated into other front panels if desired. GeBE Computer & Peripherie GmbH offers customer-specific design and manufacturing for this. |
